Fintro is a free financial literacy platform for Canadians. Features include a budget tracker, market dashboard, OSAP calculator, and learning resources. The platform is provided as-is and is not a licensed financial advisor.
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you use the budget tracker, transaction data is stored locally in your browser by default. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture.
Your email is used for account communications and, if opted in, weekly financial tips. We may analyse de-identified, aggregated usage data for platform improvement and business purposes. Any such data cannot be used to identify you individually.
We do not sell your personally identifiable information. We may share de-identified, aggregated data with third parties for research and analytics. We also share data with service providers (e.g. hosting) under appropriate data agreements.
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing privacy@fintroapp.com. Under PIPEDA, you have the right to access and correct your personal information.
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication is handled by Supabase, which is SOC 2 compliant.
